Key Features
- ✅ Extreme chemical resistance – Withstands acetone, toluene, MEK, alcohols, and acids.
- ✅ High thermal stability – Prints remain legible from -40°C up to 150°C after transfer.
- ✅ Superior abrasion & scratch resistance – Ideal for rough handling, outdoor use, and automated scanning.
- ✅ Excellent adhesion – Bonds permanently to PET, PI, PP, PE, and even some metal/glass surfaces.
- ✅ High print definition – Supports fine text, small barcodes (2D, QR), and graphics.
- ✅ Long printhead life – Formulated to minimize wear on thermal printheads.
- ✅ Manufactured in-house – Consistent coating quality, batch traceability, and direct factory support as a dedicated thermal transfer ribbon manufacturer.
Applications
- PCB & electronics – Tracking labels that survive reflow soldering (paired with PI labels).
- Chemical drums & containers – Labels that won't lift or smear after solvent exposure.
- Liquid nitrogen & cryo – Barcodes that stay readable on -196°C cryo‑vials.
- Outdoor assets & automotive – Engine compartments, fuel tanks, and UV‑exposed equipment.
- Clean rooms & ESD environments – Low outgassing, anti‑static options available.
Printer & Label Compatibility
Recommended label materials:
- Polyimide (PI) – best for high‑temperature reflow
- PET (white, silver, clear) – excellent chemical resistance
- PP (synthetic paper) – good durability
- PE (film) – test recommended
- Coated paper (short‑term indoor use only)
Compatible printers:
Printer settings suggestion:
- Darkness: 25–30% (higher than wax/resin)
- Speed: 2–4 inches per second (ips) for best adhesion and density
⚠️ Note: Resin ribbon requires higher print energy. Always test on your specific printer and label combination.
How to Choose the Right Resin Ribbon
1. Width & length selection
- Width: Ribbon must be slightly wider than the label (e.g., label 50mm → ribbon 60mm) to protect the printhead.
- Length: 300m for small/medium volume; 450m for standard industrial use; 600m for high‑volume automated printers.
- Core: 1 inch core for most industrial printers; 0.5 inch core for some desktop models.
2. Coating side
- Outside (ink faces out) – standard for Zebra, Honeywell, Sato
- Inside (ink faces in) – for some Datamax, Intermec models
- If unsure, we can determine from your printer model.
3. Printer settings suggestion
- Darkness: 25–30% (higher than wax/resin)
- Speed: 2–4 inches per second (ips) for best adhesion and density
⚠️ Note: Resin ribbon requires higher print energy. Always test on your specific printer and label combination.
