- Resin ribbon – Required for maximum chemical and scratch resistance; best print quality on glossy surface.
- Wax/Resin (semi‑synthetic) – Acceptable for indoor applications with mild chemicals; print adhesion may be lower.
- Wax ribbon – Not recommended; will smear easily on glossy surface.
Compatible printers:
Most industrial thermal transfer printers from Zebra, Honeywell, Sato, TSC, Citizen. Some desktop printers may struggle with high‑energy requirement for resin – test first.
Printer settings suggestion:
- Darkness: 25–30% for resin ribbon (higher than matte PET)
- Speed: 2–4 inches per second (ips) for consistent transfer
⚠️ Note: Glossy silver PET requires higher print energy. Always test on your specific printer and ribbon combination.
