Printer & Ribbon Compatibility
Recommended ribbons:
- Wax/Resin (semi‑synthetic) – Good balance of cost and durability for most applications.
- Resin – Required for outdoor or high‑abrasion use; provides superior chemical and scratch resistance.
- Wax – Not recommended for PP synthetic paper; adhesion and durability are poor.
Compatible printers:
Most industrial thermal transfer printers from Zebra, Honeywell, Sato, TSC, Citizen. Also compatible with desktop printers.
Printer settings suggestion:
- Darkness: 20–25% for wax/resin, 25–30% for resin
- Speed: 3–5 inches per second (ips) for optimal transfer
💡 Tip: For best adhesion on curved or low‑surface‑energy surfaces (e.g., polyethylene bottles), increase printer darkness slightly or use a resin ribbon.
